I read a lot. I like to tell myself I'll remember certain lines in books that I really like. I never manage to do this. When I read Click, something happened: I remembered a line. Maybe it's just because I'm biased and had a huge crush on Kristopher at the time or maybe it's just because it was so good. Probably both.

    pg. 33, Paint On Paper

"i explore it, make sure everything's in order and put it on the pillow next to me, a gift to the tomorrow me."

The idea of a 'tomorrow me' is completely reassuring to me and kind of restores my faith in myself that no matter how bad a day I've had, I'll wake up in the morning with a fresh self.

    or
"I say these words with a sort of desperation, not knowing if they're true, scared that they aren't."

"this is not good. it's stealing my clarity, slurring the awe. i'm forgetting who i am and becoming someone i don't want to be. again. i can't let that happen. shouldn't being who i am come easily? why do i feel like it's a constant struggle?
    ---page 11

those moments of clarity are to me my sanest moments--the most real.

"Next door is an OTB littered with men smoking cheap cigars and drinking from paper bags. The plate glass storefront allows a perfect view of the teeming masses inside, arthritic fists in the air, raging at the racing screens hanging from cold wood panel walls. They build to a crescendo, crossing their finish lines, bitter profanities cut with the occassional smile." - vivid.

"We sit across from each other as if we've known each other forever. We smile as if we mean it. Except I don't." - been there.
